How To Get Rid Of Blackheads At Home

By

Only those with impeccable skin are immune - blackheads, the most visible, and the hardest of all acne to eliminate. These pesky blemishes are a major pain to eliminate, but I hope with these simple steps you'll rid your face of them in no time. And the best news? They are things you probably already do, and it should add a whole lot of time to your routine.

But before we begin, it's best to know why we get them, if we are to ever rid ourselves of them completely. Our skin secretes oil. The oil leaves the skin and flows to the surface. It's then washed off, we sweat it off, or sometimes we even wipe if off just by touching our faces. But sometimes that oil does get past the surface of the skin, and gets stuck in our pores. It may not be able to get past the surface because of makeup, excess oil already accumulating on the surface, any kind of lotions or creams on the face, or anything else you can think of that may prevent oil from flowing to your skin. So the oil remains trapped, and when it comes into contact it turns that icky black - hence, a blackhead is born.

Avoiding Blackheads

There are several things you can do to avoid getting them from the beginning. The first is to pick a light facial cleanser - nothing to heavy, and nothing that emits too strong of an odor. Slathering your face in a heavy cleaner or overloading it with chemicals will not help. When you are in the shower or before you go to bed and wake up each day gently cleanse your face with warm water (heat opens up the pores) and gently scrub with cleanser. This lays the foundation for ridding the surface of your skin of the excess oil.

The second thing you should do is to regularly absorb the oil from your face. There are two ways to go about doing this, and both of these can be done at your leisure - while you are watching TV, reading a book or surfacing the net.

  • The first is with a clay mask, these can be purchased at any beauty store. Follow the instructions and cover your face in the clay mask, allow it to set the requisite amount of time, and wash away. This can be done as frequently as every day, however, check the labels - it may contain warning to use only every other day or weekly, depending on the contents of the mask.
  • The second way is to purchase oil absorbing pads, also from a beauty store. They come in convenient packages of 5-50, and are small and can easily fit into purses or other bags. You would simply pull out out and blot your face. A little known trick - if you don't have the pads available, regular paper also works as well! Grab a sheet, blot your face, and you'll notice the paper turns clear from the oil it absorbed from your skin.

These are ways to remove excess oil from your skin which causes the blackheads from the beginning.

How To Get Rid Of Blackheads

But since you've already got them, how do you get rid of them? Easier said than done, but you do have a few options available. The first would be to exfoliate your face. Exfoliation removes the dead skin on the surface of your face allowing the oil to flow out of your skin. You can buy exfoliating cream or masks from beauty stores and are an excellent step in removing these blemishes. After you've exfoliated, you can either remove the blackheads "by hand" (literally), or you can purchase pore strips to strip them out of your pores.

If you choose to remove the blackheads by hand, it's best to do it after you get out of the shower since the heat and steam opens up your pores. Taking a piece of tissue and put it on your pointer fingers, and put each finger on either side of the blackhead. Push down into your skin, gently squeeze and move your fingers upwards. This should cause the blackhead to leave your skin. Repeat for each blackhead, and be sure to wash your face afterwards.

If you choose to use the pore strips, they can be purchased at any beauty store. Read the instructions on the box very carefully, place the strip on your face, wet, allow to set, and remove. The blackheads should come out as you remove the strip. These strips are used with varying amounts of success, but the "by hand" method is very successful.

Get Rid Of Blackheads Videos

After seen a lot of videos on youtube (75% is scam or information everybody knows) i selected these two videos. The first video shows how to get rid of blackheads on nose but also on other places. The people in this video, made by Howcast, tell you in 7 steps how to get rid of blackheads and which procedure helps preventing them.

The second video i discovered after long searching. The girl in the video had break outs for as long as she could remember and find a cure that helped. I want to point out that the cure that helps for that girl is no garantuee it also helps for you. But you can always try it.
